better than Kraft mac ‘n’ cheese

Who doesn’t love mac’n’cheese… homemade mac’n’cheese!!!!

3 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups half and half

3/4 lb. american cheese

Cook macaroni according to the directions on the box.  Drain the noodles and return the pot back to the stove over medium heat.  Melt the butter and add the flour, whisking for a minute.  Add the half and half a little at a time until it is hot and thick, about 5 minutes.  Turn heat to low and slowly add cheese whisking it through.  Once cheese is melted, add macaroni and remove from heat.

Serve with whatever you like.  Fish, meatloaf, burgers, broccoli or eat it by itself.  It’s best with a cold brew.

After this, I am now a self-declared Mac’n’Cheese queen.
